Option 1 (Based on verbal cues):

Once upon a time, there lived a kind boy named Raj. Every evening, Raj visited his elderly neighbor, Mrs. Gupta. She was lonely and had difficulty walking. Raj helped her with chores, brought groceries, and kept her company. Mrs. Gupta always smiled when Raj was around, and she told him many wonderful tales from her youth. Raj learned a lot from her wisdom. His small acts of kindness made a big difference in Mrs. Gupta’s life. The village appreciated Raj’s efforts, and soon, many children started helping the elderly. This made the village a happier place.

Option 2 (For Visually Impaired Students):

A farmer had four sons who were very quarrelsome. Their hatred for each other worried the farmer. He advised them to live in peace but in vain. One day, he thought of a plan. He brought a bundle of sticks and asked his eldest son to break the bundle. The son tried hard but could not break it. Then the farmer asked each of his sons one by one to break the bundle. No one could break it. The farmer then untied the sticks and gave one stick to every son to break. They easily broke the sticks. The farmer said, “Now see the power of unity. Just as unity makes you strong, the tied sticks were powerful when united in a single bundle. None of you could break them.”

Option 1: My Favourite Place in School

My favourite place in school is the library. It is a quiet and comfortable place where I love to study and read. The library has tall almirahs filled with a variety of books. There are colourful and meaningful drawings on the display board. The large windows let in fresh air and create a breathtaking view of the garden outside. I enjoy spending time there because it is peaceful and helps me learn new things every day.

Option 2: The Animal I Like Most

I am very fond of animals, but the animal I like the most is the dog. Dogs give a sense of happiness, security, and love. I treat my dog as a family member because he is very loyal. He has a soft skin and a furry body. We play together every day, and he always makes me happy with his fun-loving nature.

The second question was about which people he should listen to. The third question was about what the most important thing for him to do was.

(ii) What were the suggestions given to the king for the second question?
Some advised him to listen to his councillors, others to priests or doctors. Some even suggested he listen to soldiers or spies.

(iii) What activities does the squirrel enjoy according to the poem?
The squirrel enjoys sitting up straight to eat a nut, teasing and playing, and running the other way when people run around his tree.

(iv) How did the hermit respond when the king asked him the three questions?
The hermit did not answer the king’s questions immediately. Instead, he continued digging the ground and only responded after the king had helped him.

(v) Who was the bearded man, and why did he seek revenge on the king?
The bearded man was the brother of a person whom the king had executed. He wanted to kill the king to take revenge for his brother’s death.
