5. Glowing Waters – Kerala
In Kumbalangi, Kerala, the water appears to glow at night. This phenomenon is called bioluminescence. It is caused by tiny organisms called micro-planktons. The beautiful sight attracts tourists and has helped Kumbalangi become an eco-tourism village.
6. Sundarbans – West Bengal
The Sundarbans is a huge mangrove forest in West Bengal. Its roots grow in waterlogged, low-oxygen soil and help protect the coastline from erosion. It is home to many plants and animals, including the Bengal tiger, estuarine crocodile and Indian python.
7. Invisible Chandipur Beach – Odisha
Chandipur Beach in Balasore district, Odisha, has a strange natural phenomenon. During ebb tide, the sea retreats 2–5 km, making it appear as if the sea has disappeared. During high tide, the water returns. Therefore, the beach seems to play hide-and-seek with visitors.
