The Pot Maker

The story is about a young girl Sentila who dreams of becoming a pot maker like her mother Arenla. However, her mother wants her to become a weaver because pot making is hard work and gives very little money.
Sentila secretly watches expert potters and learns the process. The village elders advise her parents to pass on their traditional skill. Later, her mother starts teaching her, but Sentila fails to learn even after a year and feels frustrated.
At the girls’ dormitory, a woman named Onula helps her by guiding her patiently. With practice and confidence, Sentila improves. One day, her mother leaves her to work alone. Sentila successfully makes many pots, almost equal to her mother.
Sadly, her mother dies that day. Later, Onula sees two rows of pots that look identical and realizes that Sentila has finally mastered the skill.

यह कहानी सेंटीला नाम की लड़की की है, जो अपनी माँ की तरह कुम्हार बनना चाहती है। लेकिन उसकी माँ चाहती है कि वह बुनकर बने क्योंकि मिट्टी के बर्तन बनाना कठिन और कम कमाई वाला काम है।
सेंटीला चुपके से कुम्हारों को देखती है और सीखने की कोशिश करती है। गाँव के बुजुर्ग उसके माता-पिता को परंपरा सिखाने के लिए कहते हैं। माँ उसे सिखाती है, लेकिन वह एक साल तक असफल रहती है।
फिर ओनुला नाम की महिला उसकी मदद करती है। अभ्यास और आत्मविश्वास से वह सीख जाती है। एक दिन वह अकेले बहुत अच्छे बर्तन बना लेती है।
उसी दिन उसकी माँ की मृत्यु हो जाती है। अंत में ओनुला समझ जाती है कि सेंटीला अब एक कुशल कुम्हार बन चुकी है।
