This chapter is about a naughty baby monkey named Toto, bought by the narratorтАЩs grandfather for five rupees. Toto is very mischievous. He destroys wallpaper, tears clothes, disturbs other animals, and never lets anyone sleep.
Grandfather hides Toto from Grandmother but eventually takes Toto with him to Saharanpur. At the railway station, the ticket-collector treats Toto as a тАЬdogтАЭ and charges fare.
Toto has many funny habits тАФ he takes a bath like humans, tests water temperature, and even sits in boiling water thinking it is warm. He steals pulao and throws dishes.
Because of his mischief and the damage he causes, Grandfather finally sells Toto back to the tonga-driver.
