✏️ 1. What is Editing and Omission?

These are grammar exercises in CBSE Class 10 English that check your grammar accuracy and observation skills.


🟩 A. EDITING (त्रुटि सुधार)

🔹 Meaning:

In Editing, you are given a paragraph with grammatical mistakes (errors in tense, article, preposition, spelling, verb form, etc.).
You must find the error and write the correct word.

🧠 Steps to Solve:

  1. Read the whole passage once – understand the meaning.
  2. Check grammar errors – like:
    • Tense
    • Subject–verb agreement
    • Articles (a, an, the)
    • Prepositions (in, on, at, etc.)
    • Spelling
    • Wrong word form (is → are, was → were, etc.)
  3. Correct each error one by one.

Example 1:

Question:

A boy were playing in the ground. He have a ball in his hand. The ball was full with air.

Correct Sentence:
A boy was playing in the ground. He had a ball in his hand. The ball was full of air.

Question:

🟩 B. OMISSION (लोप / छोड़ा हुआ शब्द)

🔹 Meaning:

In Omission, one word is missing in each line.
You must find where the word is missing and write the missing word.

  1. Read the sentence carefully.
  2. Check grammar connection – where a word is missing (article, preposition, helping verb, etc.)
  3. Write:
    • Word before
    • Missing word
    • Word after

Example 1:

Question:

Correct Sentence:
Children playing in park.
They are happy to be there.


Example 2:

Question:

Ravi going school every day.
He studies very careful.
